CPCS Resit Course - Appointed Person (A61R)

Introduction

As the Appointed Person for site, the responsibilities are many. Keeping your operators and anyone in the vicinity of your works safe from harm is critical. With legislation and best practices improving and updating over time, training, knowledge and skills must follow suit to plan lifting operations responsibly.

Course Outline

With theory-based exercises and tutorials, delegates will cover a refresher of manufacturer and general knowledge and awareness of lifting operations, safety procedures, and best practices as an Appointed Person.

The course reflects national standards and industry best practices and is fully accredited in line with regulations. In addition, choose to learn with Citrus, and we can tailor courses to fit your specific training needs, with the added flexibility provided by our custom-built training facilities and customer-first approach to how we work.

Our occupationally and technically-experienced trainers guide delegates through this course, completing the Appointed Person theory or scenario test. They must pass both components to qualify for their CPCS Red Card Appointed Person.

Course Programme

This refresher training is for Appointed Persons involved in planning the lifting activity, including cranes, excavators, Forklifts, and Lorry Loaders. Delegates will review legal requirements, ensure safety compliance, and understand procedures, documentation, and classifications.

The course content includes:

Day 1

  • Legislation relating to planning lifting operations
  • A review of the delegate’s previous CPCS Appointed Person exam paper
  • Drawing workshop refresher training
  • A Lift Plan exercise
  • Optional areas of the original CPCS course that the group of delegates feel that they need refresher training on

Day 2

Delegates will undertake the relevant part of the CPCS Technical Test that they didn’t achieve in their previous attempt.

  • The CPCS Technical Test will be undertaken in strict CPCS Exam conditions
On Completion

Delegates will receive the CPCS Red Card (Trained Operator) endorsed with the Appointed person category, valid for two years. Within this time, you must complete your NVQ to convert from the Red CPCS card to the Blue CPCS card. The Blue card is valid for five years.

Who Should Attend?
