The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and friendly team in this new and developing role. As a HR Advisor at Citrus Group, you will play a crucial role within the team and the business, acting as a key point of contact for employees and management.

Each day is different, and you need to be comfortable with juggling a number of different priorities. You will need to build trusted relationships with all our stakeholders, at every level of the business to make a difference. The role is a generalist role, and you will need to provide advice and guidance on a range of HR topics, which is compliant with both legislation and our policies.

You will need to deliver an excellent customer experience to our employees and ensure that administration and processes are implemented effectively and fairly. You will also have the opportunity to get involved with project work that supports the organisation’s strategic goals. This includes supporting with our wellbeing and inclusion initiatives, developing training programmes and policy and process reviews and development.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Provide a high level of customer service and be the first point of contact for all HR and Payroll queries. Providing effective support, advice and guidance to employees, as required.
  • Provide commercially focused advice, support, training, and guidance for line managers on all HR procedures and employee relations matters throughout the employee life cycle, ensuring processes are completed effectively, in line with policy, and in a timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, probation, leave management, learning and development, one to ones, flexible working, employee wellbeing, performance and absence management, TUPE, grievances, mediation, the disciplinary process, and employee exit.
  • To support the HR team with all transactional and administrative tasks, maintaining data confidentially and accurately using our online HR system and internal systems. This will include, but is not limited to, onboarding and offboarding activities, updating and maintaining asset registers, keeping training records up to date, and processing contractual updates, as well as the management of all day-to-day HR administration processes as required.
  • To keep up to date with employment legislative changes to ensure that our process and policies are up to date and that advice provided is accurate.
  • Collaborate with our employee committees and wellbeing and safeguarding teams on related initiatives and activities. Supporting their work and championing inclusion,
    equity, safety and wellbeing to ensure that employees feel welcome, safe and supported.
  • Ensure that pre-employment and background checks, including references and DBS checks are completed in a timely manner and any issues are escalated to the appropriate manager.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of HR systems and practices.
  • Produce employee data reports and monitor key HR metrics, including absence rates, staff turnover rates, inclusion and diversity data, retention rates, etc.
  • Support the Head of Group HR with projects, as required, to support strategic business goals.
  • Support with the facilitation of employee feedback, including producing, analysing, and reporting on employee engagement and satisfaction surveys.
  • Complete inductions with all new employees.
  • Conduct investigations, capability, grievance, and disciplinary meetings, as required.
  • Work with the Safety Team and Management Team to ensure that any health related personal and DSE risk assessments are completed and reviewed, as required.

  • Support the Head of Group HR to manage third party supplier relationships and liaise with the relevant account managers to ensure service level agreements are fulfilled.
    This will include liaising with HR software, training, employee benefit, fuel card and travel management suppliers.
  • Complete and check accuracy of payroll data and ensure that payroll information is up to date prior to the processing deadline.
  • Assist with general administration tasks, for example, scanning, filing, and archiving of documents, as required.

The Person
Knowledge 
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working as an HR Advisor, HR Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Experience using online HR systems, is desirable, but training will be provided.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent (or working towards).
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and best practice HR policies and processes.
  • Experience providing compliant advice and guidance on UK employment law and HR issues.
  • Experience of resolving complex employee relations cases.
  • IT literate with knowledge and experience in Microsoft office programmes such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience of using Sage payroll and accounting software is desirable, but training will be provided.

Hours

Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:30 & Friday 08:00 – 17:00

The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours to accommodate the needs of the business. Travel to other Citrus Group sites in the UK may be necessary on an ad hoc basis.

Competitive and subject to experience
