City & Guilds Approved PAT Testing

  • Who Attends

    This City & Guilds PAT Testing qualification is suitable for practising electricians and all those that are involved in the testing and inspection of electrical equipment. No previous experience or qualifications are necessary.

  • The Aim

    The City & Guilds PAT Testing training course provides delegates with a thorough understanding of how to test equipment to the requirements of the IEE Code of Practice.

  • Course Content

    The City & Guilds PAT Testing training course content includes:

    • Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
    • Practical demonstrations of how to safely inspect portable electrical equipment.

    Assessment:
    • Practical test.
    City & Guilds multiple choice exam.

  • Knowledge

    By the end of the City & Guilds PAT Testing training course delegates will be able to:

    • Distinguish between different types of appliances.
    • Complete formal visual inspections on appliances and identify faults.
    • Select and complete the appropriate tests using a portable appliance testing machine.

  • Methods

    A high proportion of hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises, which will be supplemented with classroom based tutorials.

    Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a City & Guilds 2377-22 certificate.

  • Additional Info

    This qualification is based on the IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

    Delegates should provide a passport photograph on the day of training for production of ID Cards.

    Delegates should inform their trainer if they have any serious health issues, physical problems, special considerations or are taking any medication, which may create difficulties in undertaking elements of this training course.
