Mental Health First Aid Awareness - MHFA England

Introduction

We might think we know what mental health is, but the spectrum is broad and affects everyone differently at various stages of life. The construction industry is especially susceptible to challenges in mental health in the workforce, which many may feel stigma around or simply not appreciate.

There is no one-size-fits-all in mental health, but there are vital learnings, understanding, awareness and appreciation that all organisations and individuals can gain to help support themselves and others better.

This MHFA certification gives delegates an understanding of mental health and resilience, how to support someone in distress and how to look after their own mental health and maintain self-care and wellbeing.

Course Outline

Presentations, group discussions, and workshop activities take delegates through the basics of mental health and the challenges people can face addressing it, such as stigma and resources.

The course reflects national standards and industry best practices and is fully accredited in line with regulations. In addition, choose to learn with Citrus, and delegates will benefit from our custom-built training facilities and customer-first approach.

Our occupationally experienced and qualified trainers coach delegates on this course, completing the session with a theoretical assessment.

Who Should Attend?

This half-day mental health first aid workshop is for anyone looking to level up their mental health and emotional wellbeing awareness to look after themselves and those around them.

Delegates will complete a range of group and individual activities throughout the course, with each session built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. Learning this way helps embed their learning and ensure they understand the practical application of that knowledge.

Course Duration

The half-day Mental Health First Aid Awareness course certifies delegates as mental health aware. By teaching how to spot symptoms and signs of ill mental health, delegates will feel more confident approaching and supporting someone in need while keeping themselves safe.
