Safety Harness Awareness

Introduction

Whether climbing a one storey ladder or skyscraper rooftop, safety harnesses are an essential piece of kit when working at height. Falls from height are the most significant cause of fatality and injury in the UK workplace, but this need not be the case with rigorous, quality training in safety equipment, procedures, and actions for anyone working at or near heights.

This Citrus Safety Harness Awareness qualification provides the knowledge and skills to use a safety harness, from selecting the correct harness and lanyard combination to risk assessment and operation.

Delegates will receive training in the various legislation associated with work at height and a background in the different additional pieces of lifting equipment available to aid safety and prevent accidents.

Course Outline

With a mix of practical and theory-based exercises and tutorials, delegates will cover the requirements of safety harness selection, operation and all emergency measures. In addition, the course gives hands-on training on various types of harnesses and protection expected for use within lifting operations and the pre-use checks that must happen.

The course reflects national standards and industry best practices and is fully accredited in line with regulations. In addition, choose to learn with Citrus, and delegates benefit from our custom-built training facilities and customer-first approach.

Our occupationally and technically-experienced trainers coach delegates on this course, completing the session with a practical observation and theory examination. Delegates must complete all assessments to pass this qualification.
