SHEA Water Passport

Introduction

Our Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) suite of schemes is developed in collaboration with industry to provide a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness training across the utility sector, in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.

The Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) - the online register of training and skills for the energy and utility sector - accredits this course. In partnership with CSCS, the EUSR sets out to nurture and maintain a skilled and sustainable workforce in our industry.

This EUSR SHEA Water Passport certification delivers the necessary knowledge and understanding for workers who require access to operational sites within the water industry, both permanent and temporary, including operatives, supervisors and management.

Course Outline

In theory-based exercises and tutorials, delegates will cover core modules of water works in utility services and learn best practices and operating methods to install a system in a live environment.

Made up of eight modules, the course includes six core modules relevant for all utility industries, supporting workplace health and safety and environmental law and best practices. A further two modules are water industry specific. The course aims to demonstrate that an individual has an appropriate level of knowledge, understanding and behavioural awareness in these areas.

Our Energy & Utility Skills approved trainers coach delegates on this course, completing the session with a short answer question paper. In addition, delegates must complete all eight modules and pass the SHEA Water assessment to receive the SHEA Water registration, valid for three years.
