Our Sectors

Power

Defined as the people and activities involved in providing power such as gas and electricity to homes and businesses, Power is a vast sector and plays a significant part of a UK energy market of over £28 billion.

Highly regulated and one of the most safety-critical sectors across the UK, our Electrical Power training educates workers to stay safe in high-risk situations. For example, cable strikes are a particular area of concern, showing an increasing trend over the past 12 months, contributing to additional key support employers need from training providers to keep their employees safe and knowledgeable.

Giving you the power

We work mainly within the Electrical Power sector, providing training and assessments services to businesses carrying out installation and maintenance work on the electrical cable network. This includes direct work with the Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and their supply chain partners across the UK and businesses that operate their independent networks (IDNO).

Why Citrus Training?

We dedicate our efforts to unrivalled quality and the customer experience at Citrus Training. As a result, we are the leading UK-based provider of health, safety and technical training and assessment services to the Built Environment and Utility sectors. Our trainers are recruited from within the Power sector and have vital working expertise, knowledge and experience to pass on to delegates.

We deliver Power courses across the UK and aim to increase our portfolio by working with more Distribution Network Operators (DNO), and Independent Network Operators (IDNO) and other power generation schemes – such as wind, solar, and other renewable energies sectors. Our vital technical training supports businesses in updating, building, and maintaining the national electrical network – ensuring electrical infrastructure is up to date and provides electricity to households, businesses, and facilities across the UK.

Standards we live and breathe by

A name synonymous with quality and trust, we are a preferred Power training provider in the sector for clients including Amey, Skanska, M Group and Balfour Beatty – training their Tier 1 national contractors working across all DNO networks. In addition, we provide technical training services to a considerable proportion of their sub-contract supply chain partners.

We train delegates in our industry-leading facilities nationwide with our in-house and employed Electrical Safety trainers who deliver premium training with consistency and quality. And one of the UK’s largest in-house support teams, offering a tailored mix of training, consultancy, and technical services, is always available to advise customers on accreditations, schemes, and regulation requirements.

Customers can take advantage of our fully-managed delivery, offering regional engagement, skills and competency management, skills cards and test management services, ensuring all bases are covered. The result is market-leading training practices and services, serving businesses and customers across the country.

As part of our ongoing strategy to provide more to the sector, we will increase our services and work directly with more Distribution Network Operators (DNO) and Independent Network Operators (IDNO), alongside more technical training methods and continually improving the customer experience.
