We are immensely proud members of The 5% Club, a movement of employers providing ‘earn and learn’ opportunities to develop the skills and talents of their workforce since 2013. Founded by a group of business leaders, including Leo Quinn, the CEO of Balfour Beatty, members make a commitment aiming to provide a minimum of 5% of their workforce opportunities in ‘earn and learn’ placements, such as apprenticeships.
But what is earn and learn and why is it important?
”Earn and Learn” combines study with practical experience, enabling workers to gain the knowledge and skills they need to get ahead in their careers. This way of working is accessible to everyone whether leaving school or changing careers and is a popular alternative to university for many graduate occupations. The benefits of earn and learn opportunities include valuable experience, skills sets and learning environments for delegates and clear routes to economic independence.
Employers can expect to benefit from increased employee effectiveness, productivity, motivation and retention, proving to be a significant return on investment. And for the economy and society in general, earn and learn opportunities make a significant impact in lowering costs of NEETs (individuals Not in Education, Employment or Training) and adding value to industry and sectors across the whole spectrum of the workforce.
As a business, Citrus Training commits to supporting the learning and development of our employees.
