CISRS - Advanced Scaffold Inspection

  • Who Attends

    The main objective of the CISRS Advanced scaffold inspection course is to give the attendees more comprehensive and in-depth knowledge, to enable them to understand how to inspect complex scaffolding structures in accordance with the Work at Height Regulations. This is in addition to the skills needed to complete full scaffold inspection reports.

  • The Aim

    This advanced CISRS scaffolder training course is designed for experienced scaffolders and scaffold inspectors who are responsible for inspecting scaffolds and completing reports in accordance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005. It?s also suitable for other professionals at a similar level who wish to expand their knowledge of scaffolding

    •Introduction to Scaffolding & Scaffolding Terminology

    •The Work at Height Regulations 2005

    •British, European and Industry Standards (NASC)

    •Overview of SG4:15 - Preventing Falls in Scaffolding Operations

    •Tube, fittings & boards

    •Safe ladder access and egress

    •Scaffolders training and working methods

    •Bracing and tying scaffolds

    •Fan boards and public protection

    •Mobile, static and loading towers

    •Birdcage scaffolds

    •Beams and bridging beams

    •Various types of system scaffolding

    •How to carry out a scaffolding inspection

    •Scaffold tagging systems

    •Scaffold inspection exercise

    •Knowledge test and assessment.

  • Knowledge

    Successful delegates will receive a CISRS Completion Certificate, and we will apply for the CISRS Advanced Scaffold Inspection card for you. Delegates are required to bring a passport photograph and current CITB Health, Safety & Environment test or valid exemption in order to receive certification.

  • Methods

    This face to face course is led by a qualified instructor over 3 days.

    Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, videos, group discussions and workshop activities. Delegates will be required to physically inspect scaffolding, find faults, compile reports and use scaffold tagging systems. All of the centres have purpose built scaffolding inspection installations.

  • Additional Info

    Entry Requirements - CISRS would expect delegates to have awareness and experience of scaffolding structures, which would have come from time spent in their individual industry sector e.g. construction, engineering, manufacturing, offshore etc. For the advanced inspection course delegates must hold:

    •CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card/Certificate

    •OR Held a Part 2 card for a minimum of 2 years

    •OR Held a BSI card for 2 years

    1 passport style photo ? preferably scanned and sent by email

    Health & Safety Requirement - You must either be able to provide evidence of passing a CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test within the last 23 months; or you must hold at least one of the following:

    •CSCS Health & Safety test (taken within 2 years of application)

    •Current CCNSG Safety Passport (SCATS Card)

    •NEBOSH Construction Certificate (taken within 2 years of application)

    •Current offshore Survival Certificate (taken within 2 years of application)

    •SMSTS (taken within 2 years of application)

    •FAS Safe Pass (taken within 2 years of application)

    •SSSTS (taken within 2 years of application)
