Introduction
Estimation allows for preparation ahead of operations so that the quantity of work, materials, labour and budgetary need for a project is catered for before work starts.
In construction, estimation forecasts the costs of building a structure. The estimating process can span several phases of a project, and the estimator's role is multi-faceted to deal with this.
There are four main types of estimating:
- Preliminary Estimates
- Detailed Estimates
- Quantity Estimates
- Bid Estimates
