Introduction
Construction estimation allows for preparation ahead of operations so that the quantity of work, materials, labour and budgetary need for a project is catered for before work starts.
The estimating process can span several phases of a project. Coupled with management responsibilities, including tender submissions, contractor appointments, and working and personal development management of teams in their care, the managerial role in estimation is certainly a multi-faceted one.
There are four main types of estimating:
- Preliminary Estimates
