Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety

Introduction

Occupational Health and Safety practitioners and, specifically, Health and Safety (H&S) Officers are vital to the well-being of workers and the success of a project. Working in naturally dangerous and high-risk environments, especially without process or procedure in place, the H&S Officer must have the multi-discipline knowledge, skills and expertise to predict, manage,  and therefore prevent or drastically reduce risk to everyone on site, ensuring the build stays on track. Duties can range from providing the correct PPE on site to carrying out complex risk assessments and their subsequent reports. Ultimately, health and safety responsibilities and action all parties take to comply with legislation are managed and implemented by Health and Safety Officers.

This Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety qualification enables delegates to demonstrate and recognise skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrate competence in a real workplace environment. They are designed for professionals working in occupational health and safety practitioner positions in the construction sector to develop and prove knowledge and competency.
