Introduction
Thanks to their impressive cutting power, petrol cut-off saws, or chop saws as they are sometimes known, are excellent for cutting small sections of hardcore material such as stone, concrete and steel. The handheld angle grinder is typically used in metal fabrication but is also handy when working with concrete, hardwoods and other dense materials, for cutting, grinding, deburring, finishing and polishing. They are usually powered by corded electricity or by battery and are a mainstay in a construction worker's kit.
This Citrus Safe Use of Abrasive Wheels (Petrol Driven Cut Off and Handheld Angle Grinders) qualification enables delegates to demonstrate skill, knowledge, and competence in using these power tools safely and to comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
