What is NRSW?

New Roads and Street Works are critical to keeping the country moving, supporting traffic and supply chain to meet demands, and keeping pavements and walkways safer. Working on NRSW sites requires acute attention to detail and safety to protect those working them and the general public, who are often navigating their way through and around this kind of work.

To regulate standards and quality for NRSW, all projects, large or small, are subject to The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. The legislation provides guidance and frameworks to ensure workers deliver all projects safely, with minimal disruption to the public, while protecting the road and street they are working on.

From busy cities to rural country roads, responsible contractors and employers will only train their employees with accredited courses that adhere to NRSWA 1991.

Which course should I take?

All Citrus Training NRSW courses are accredited by the Certification and Assessment Board for the Water Industry (CABWI) and cater for supervisors and operators from novice to refresher:

NRSWA For Operatives
We have everything covered for delegates to gain their NRSWA Operative Card.

NRSWA for Supervisors
Our full suite of supervisor courses will equip delegates with their NRSWA Supervisor Card.

NRSWA Refresher Courses
The Street Works Operative Card is valid for five years, so our refresher courses are ideal if expiration dates are coming up.

Cable Avoidance
NRSWA Unit 1, cable avoidance is mandatory for operatives and supervisors as part of a full NRSW knowledge and operations qualification.

Our courses are available as public courses, and dedicated training options are available. Contact us to find out more.

Grants and funding

At Citrus, we want training and opportunities to be available for as many delegates as possible. There are funding and grant options to explore for different courses, and we aim to provide as much information as possible for our customers. In this case, the CITB Grant is applicable for NRSW courses; contact us to find out more.
